TCU Pounds Michigan Late to Open College Classic

Good pitching and late timely hitting has been the recipe in these early season tournaments for the TCU Horned Frogs. Austin Davis got the runs going for the Frogs in the 4th with a lead-off home run. TCU later added 2 more off a homer from JUCO transfer Cole Fontenelle. The scoring would continue in the 8th for the Frogs to push the lead to 6-0. Ryan Vanderhei was fantastic again as he pitched 6 innings of scoreless ball. Luke Savage was able to close the door with three scoreless himself to earn the save.

Looking ahead: TCU will again occupy the 3:30pm slot against Louisville, a top 25 team. This will be the 7th time the Frogs will face someone currently in the CBC Top 25. As for Michigan, they will play the early game against Texas Tech. Michigan is 2-6 all-time against the Red Raiders.
