Rice Stuns Texas Tech

Great pitching and 2 swings lift the owls over the Red Raiders to open the College Classic. Parker Smith pitched a gem for the Rice Owls, going 6 innings of scoreless ball against the Red Raiders. Justin Long was terrific in relief to shut Texas Tech down. Connor Walsh and Jack Riedel each delivered huge homers. This is Texas Tech’s first loss of the season, they now sit at 10-1. For Rice, this is their first win over a power opponent, previously 0-3. Texas Tech struck out 12 times and had a ton of pop outs as well. Rice will play Texas A&M on Saturday while Texas Tech will look to rebound against Michigan.
