Louisville Run Rules Michigan En Route to a College Classic Win

Louisville aces their first true test in a not so dramatic fashion. While the bats were hot coming into the weekend, the opponents had been less than stellar. Louisville shut the haters up all weekend and controlled every game they were in. On Friday, they grabbed an impressive win over top-25 Texas A&M in a 14-5 finish, a game Louisville led 14-0 late. Knapczyk and Payton led the charge with multi-hit games. Deja vu struck Louisville fans again on Saturday as Knapczyk and Payton again had multi-hit games, with Payton adding a homer to lift the Cards over another top-25 opponent in the TCU Horned Frogs. Sunday, the Cards made quick work of Michigan in a 1 hit run rule. Another highlight on the weekend was the Louisville pitching staff. The starters only allowed 1 run across 20 innings.
This has to be the most complete weekend for any team across the country at this point in the season. Blowouts in 2 of the 3 games, wins over 3 teams who made the tournament last year, 2 that won their conferences, and 2 wins over ranked teams. Louisville is my firm number 1 at this point in the season.
