With 9 days remaining until the first pitch of the ACC Tournament, College Baseball Central is breaking down the biggest X-Factor for each team in Charlotte.
If the season ended at the time of writing, Florida State would claim the No. 3 seed in the tournament, meaning they will be highlighted in the third installment of our 12-part series. Also, at the end of each new X-Factor installment, I will try to put a number on the level of concern each situation causes me.
X-Factor: Scoring Offense
Similarly to North Carolina, it was hard to pick out a weakness for a dominant Seminoles team. And while their offense is still littered with star power throughout the lineup, it leaves a bit to be desired.
Of the teams currently locked in to the ACC Tournament, the Seminoles ranks last in RBIs and eighth in total runs. Cam Smith and James Tibbs III both rank within the top-10 of the ACC in batting average and are joined by four other Seminoles with a batting average of .300 or better.
Drew Faurot and Alex Lodise are the only FSU batters that could be a candidate for replacement at any point, but with how consistent the Seminoles have been this season it would be shocking to see any sort of lineup change.
Concern Level: 2 out of 10
Realistically, there is almost zero concern with the Seminoles' offense going forward. Even in the majority of their losses, Link Jarrett's team is manufacturing offense, but we had to pick out something.
